Melding Japanese Art Forms
Sessions 1 & 2
Maximum per session: 15

According to Sensei Feick, EDHS Teacher-Librarian and origami guru, what could be more quintessential than origami and haiki, two Japanese art-forms, melded in a happy marriage of words and form.

In this workshop, participants will create the three-dimensional shape demonstrated at the right. If you'd like, bring a 3 or 4-line poem to inscribe on this dynamic shape.

May I Be Excused: My Brain is Full
by Olivia and Krista Preuss-Goudreault
Session 1, ONLY
Maximum per session: 10

Diagnosed at age 10 with Autism, Olivia promptly tried, in vain, to find a book that explains Autism to 10 year olds. So, Olivia with her mom, Krista, as her scribe, decided to write and self-publish her own.

What came out of their collaboration is May I Be Excused: My Brain is Full a storybook ‎designed to introduce the topic of Autism to children in a light-hearted and positive way.

Come hear Olivia's story, her strategies on Autism and her journey through the self-publishing process.
